Sky Go Coming to Android At Last

Sky Go on Android

Sky has announced that their flagship app - Sky Go is finally coming to Android on its 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version.

Sky Go enables users to take advantage of mobile TV technology from the convenience of portable mediums such as tablets and smartphones.

Current Sky customers can enjoy Sky Go for no extra charge while non-Sky users will have to pay £15 per month with the Sky Go monthly ticket. The Android Gingerbread version for some handsets is available now with the ICS version arriving at the end of the month.

Holly Knill, Product Director of Sky Go on the news stated that with the influx of android devices in the mobile market, this was a move Sky simply had to make or risk alienating some of its viewership:

With the huge and ever-growing popularity of Android devices in the UK it's fantastic to make on-demand content from Sky Movies and Sky Entertainment available to Sky customers for the first time"

Sky will also be offering an On-Demand service with the new Android App.
