MobiTV and Deutsche Telekom Partnership - What Does it Mean?

MobiTV continue to strive for perfection. Today they have announced an intriguing European partnership with telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom. So what does it mean?
In a nutshell, it will increase the volume of hardware devices able to receive ‘prime-time’ television broadcasts.
Deutsche Telekom will integrate MobiTV’s TV Everywhere solution into its existing IPTV service “Entertain” to extend the delivery of primetime shows, live sporting events and VOD services to tablets, smartphones and PCs.
By integrating MobiTV’s TV Everywhere solution, Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV subscribers will be able to view both live and on demand video content on authorised PCs, tablets and smartphone devices.
The deal is equally as productive for MobiTV, with their renowned TV Everywhere solution allowing broadcasters, cable and pay TV operators to deliver a converged media experience.
This will feed the growing consumer hunger for universal access to TV content, on any device irrespective of manufacturer or platform. It’s a very progressive step for the Mobile TV community.
Another crucial factor that can not be ignored is the seamless usability of MobiTV’s proprietary converged media platform, that is both quick to deploy and easy to integrate with customers’ existing systems and networks.
Christian P. Illek, head of marketing at Telekom confirmed this deal was about improving user experience:
With the development of Entertain into a converged media platform we will offer our customers universal TV access on multiple end-devices and even more comfortable TV consumption."
