New Mobile TV Apps for Al Jazeera
Qatar based network, Al Jazeera, has launched Arabic applications to bring live TV bulletins to Android and Blackberry mobile users.
In addition to providing 24 hour breaking news, Satellite news broadcaster’s apps also simplify the instant submission of video footage and images.
Al Jazeera had relied on citizen reporting in its renowned coverage of the Arab spring, especially in countries where reporting restrictions were in place such as Tunisia and more recently, Syria.
Moeed Ahmad, head of new media, Al Jazeera said he was delighted that the Al Jazeera experience was now available in Arabic to Android and BlackBerry mobile users:
