Sky Go Coming To Android
Sky has revealed that the much anticipated Sky Go app for Android is on the horizon.
Sky Go was launched for apples products some months ago but has of yet to be made available to Android users. Considering Android is estimated to make up 56% of mobile market share Sky has been criticized for underestimating the Android user-ship. Sky stated it was a simple matter of Android being more complex to manipulate:
The Android platform is more fragmented with a wide range of different devices that have differing hardware and different versions of the Android OS so it takes longer for us to build and test for this."
Even without Andorid on board Sky Go already has 1.6 million subscribers, so many are expecting a mobile TV bump when 'Go' is opened up to the mass market.
Sky Go on Android, is expected to be here by the end of the year.
