Sky Sports and the BBC have landed the UK F1 broadcasting rights for 2012 - 2018.

The deal will enhance F1 coverage with Sky's red button service in addition to Radio 5 Live and Sports Extra covering every race. With the recent launch of Sky Go F1 fans will be anticipating the live mobile broadcasting of races such as the British Grand Prix from Silverstone.

Barney Francis, Managing Director of Sky Sports, said Sky Sports would take F1 to the next level:

“As well as unrivalled build up to each race on Sky Sports News, we will broadcast in-depth live coverage of every session. Sky customers with Sky Sports will also be able to enjoy F1 across multiple platforms and devices, including Sky Go.”

The current deal, which is exclusive to the BBC expires at the end of the current campaign.
