Mobile TV Expanding in China with CCTV
China Central Television (CCTV) has joined forces with China TV in a joint venture to roll out 3G mobile TV to the mass market of China.
The report, which broke from cctime.com, has stated the the joint venture will combine the vast content resources of CCTV with China Mobile's experience in wireless data operations.
Wang Jianzhou, chairman of China Mobile, said the joint venture will raise the competitiveness of both companies in the fields of new media and wireless communications in order to meet the demands of customers for quality information services.
This news breaks on the back of the report from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealing China had about 714,000 3G mobile phone towers by the end of May this year, stating the power of the countries mobile arm.
