India go 3G with Aircel

Mobile phone service provider, Aircel is to launch third generation (3G) technology across India.

Voice, data and high speed broadband services will be available upon launch, in addition to video streaming and mobile TV via content provider Apalya.

Single channel packages for this mobile TV service are priced at Rs10 per day or Rs50 per month, with Rs150 per month entitling you to a subscription of all available programming. 

Gurdeep Singh, Aircel’s COO stated there would be an array of price plans available to suit all demographics “for you to stay connected on the move and get the best out of high speed surfing,”

Initial services were launched this week in Chennai and Bangalore, with plans a foot to expand the operation by March.
