Online TV player YTL Communications is to engage with Malaysia's flagship broadcaster, Media Prima, and public service broadcaster RTM in a deal that looks certain to push Malaysia to podium position on the mobile TV platform.
The network is to launch on November 19 and is aiming to combine day to day television with online content in a new cutting edge service.
Customers have been promised a line of new productions and programming from the partners that will be available with a 4G mobile internet initially with plans to have a more expansive offering by 2011.
This will be YTL's first content deal since the company announced its television plans in October and will give users' incredible usability such a having TV favourites recorded and organised automatically.
Users will essentially have mobile broadband, mobile voice, home TV and mobile TV all in one account.
Tan Sri Dato' Francis Yeoh - Executive Chairman of YTL Communications believed the merger confirmed Malaysia's place as the worlds most advanced wireless country:

Datuk Ibrahim Yahaya, Director General of RTM was equally optimistic stating the governments plan to digitise broadcast by 2015 was well on track:
