Mobile TV is an evolving technology, although conceptualized as television watched on any suitably equipped mobile device, it now looks like it may converge with more traditional TV and be viewable on any screen. Couple this with datacasting and features such as new content discovery, video on demand, time, place and device shifting and real time integration with social media and you have something that's hard to ignore.
Services may be offered as free or Pay TV and streamed over the Internet and cell phone networks to individual mobile devices or received over-the-air like regular television broadcasts – or combined to give the best of both.
The defining feature of mobile TV though, is the ability to receive robust reception anywhere, whether that be travelling at speed in a car, train, bus or simply at rest.
